School of Tomorrow

SCHOOL OF TOMORROW

Our mission

The School of Tomorrow’s mission is to innovate the way education meets the future. We promote intrinsic motivation and the development of one’s own personality. We create personalized learning pathways that connect with the local and global community and encourage both co-creation and lifelong learning.

Basic attitude of the School of Tomorrow

The basic pedagogical approach of the School of Tomorrow ensures that the children are encouraged and supported in their learning, social behavior and leisure activities. The practical philosophy and targeted personal development – which are two cornerstones of the School of Tomorrow – teaches children how to cope well with uncertainty and new things. Nonviolent conflict resolution, consideration and tolerance are developed. The school team promotes the competence and independence of the children and involves them in the organization of everyday school life. It supports the children in their individual learning and experience needs.

The focus is less on learning by heart, repeating or storing knowledge and more on experience and curiosity, self-determination and intrinsic motivation. In addition, the focus is on strengthening your own mindset, enjoying learning and developing healthy self-confidence – without unnecessary pressure. In addition, the daily routine is deliberately designed to be flexible and without fixed lessons. This enables the children to focus, deepen and get into the flow; at the same time it allows you to choose freely when a break is needed. This also promotes personal responsibility and self-efficacy. The holidays are organized just as flexibly. We are convinced that time with the family and holidays do not mean the absence of learning, on the contrary, enriching experiences inside and outside of school all make a substantial contribution to the development of the child. That is why we want to promote and support this valuable and important time as much as possible. The School of Tomorrow takes all Zurich vacation days into account. It is only closed 9 weeks a year, 6 weeks in summer and 3 weeks over Christmas / New Year. The parents can take the remaining 4-5 weeks of vacation as they wish.

Guiding principle
Personally

In the SOT children learn independently and individually, but not arbitrarily and without structure; the innate curiosity as well as the children’s willingness to learn are encouraged

Innovative

The SOT is intended to offer children and parents a contemporary, flexible, future-oriented and constantly developing school; this is child-friendly, parent-friendly and family-friendly.

Charismatic

The SOT places a great focus on the development of the individual personality and the associated skills in order to develop a strong, individual character.

Trustful

The SOT should offer a high degree of constancy, security and trust. It should give the children support. This has a positive effect on the intrinsic motivation to learn and self-confidence.

Dynamic

In terms of an innovative, future-oriented and constantly changing school with a wide and constantly changing range, we never stand still. We question the status quo and dare to break new ground.

Lifelike

By networking learning, play and leisure, the SOT becomes lifelike. Targeted “out-of-classroom experiences” complement the life experience and, in combination, form a holistic learning model.

Social

The SOT strives for an open, loving, communicative and constructive atmosphere in which children and caregivers meet at eye level, with respect and appreciation. The social thought should be lived inside and outside the school.

Synergetic

A good cooperation between the school and the parents should help that the children feel holistically at home in the School of Tomorrow; this requires the parents to work with the school.

Interested

The private interests of the students are deepened, accompanied and supported by the school and teachers. Wherever possible, these become an integral part of the projects.

Entrepreneurial

Entrepreneurial thinking – the ability to think and act independently, innovatively and solution-oriented – is strongly encouraged at the SOT; not only in theory, but above all directly in practice.

Philosophical

The SOT builds on the philosophy. The love of knowledge, questions and ethical and moral values are in the foreground. By mastering thought and action, we strive to lay the foundation for a successful and fulfilling life.
