abc Sprachen is located in Dübendorf / Wallisellen and offers language courses in small classes that are tailored to individual needs. Individuality and customer needs are central to abc Sprachen. The teachers come to your home or workplace so that there is no time-consuming journey and you can learn the language in your familiar environment. We currently teach in 16 different languages, whereby the supply is defined by demand and is therefore constantly being expanded. The teachers only teach languages ​​in their mother tongue, so learning success is guaranteed.

Our online courses are supported by maxbrain.com’s digital learning platform. The platform combines digital learning with interactive video conferencing technology. You use the learning platform during lessons and find additional work material there. The platform is also a working tool for self-study.

Tailored to the needs of your child, we lead target-oriented tuition to the desired school level. The lessons take place at your home or in our language school in Dübendorf / Wallisellen. The teacher works with the child on homework. Sustainable learning is encouraged in the course, thus providing a basis for lifelong learning. Conscious practice builds on the child’s level of knowledge, is varied and regular.

Learning goals

You discuss with the teacher your personal goals and individual wishes, where and when the lessons take place and how much time you would like to invest. Further goals result from the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (GER).

Learning transfer

Language is a means of communication. You will be prepared for the fact that in everyday life it is not always spoken slowly and clearly, that participants in the conversation use different varieties, etc. You learn different means of speech, be it oral or written, with which you have a basis for different situations, be it at work, on vacation or in everyday life. These speeches are developed from your personal goals and supplemented by the teaching materials used. You keep playing through different conversations in specific situations to incorporate phases of free speaking.

In the area of ​​listening comprehension, attention is paid to mixing (different speakers and speaking situations, different speaking speeds, etc.). There is also the option of specifically including specialist vocabulary and specific professional language in the courses.
The transfer of learning is also supported by the fact that different forms of grammar exercises are carried out in the courses. Varied, regular and challenging practice is an important part of the course.

Forms of learning and teaching

abc sprachen is based on the action-oriented approach and pursues a communicative learning approach in this regard. In the course, independent and sustainable learning is encouraged and thus a basis for lifelong learning. You discuss with the teacher whether you want to do homework and how much time you can devote to it. You will be shown further exercise offers which can be built into the lesson or which you can use independently (e.g. online exercises, radio broadcasts, practical or job-oriented tasks).

The teacher designs the lessons varied, tailored to your needs and uses different teaching methods, e.g. frontal teaching, simulations, games, independent learning, project work, various exercises: speaking, listening, grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary, etc.

Graduation

After completing the course, you will receive a certificate from the language school. Here it is documented at which level according to GER you attended the course, the number of hours and the duration of the course. If you would like to obtain an internationally known qualification, a telc (The European Langauge Certificate) language certificate is the best option.

As a licensed telc examination center, we prepare for internationally recognized language certificates and conduct telc language exams at our location in Wallisellen / Dübendorf. There are specific teaching aids for this, which prepare for it and thus also represent a repetition of what has already been learned and serve as a control. You will also receive a certificate that documents your knowledge accordingly. The telc certificate opens new doors for you: in work, study and everyday life.

telc also offers the junior and school exam format in German (levels A1-B1), English (A1-B2), and French (A1-B1). We teach the young people at these levels and also prepare them for the exams
